Have you ever tried bow hunting for birds, Pheasants to be exact. I have seen this on TV and thought it looked fun. What info does anybody have on this as far as bow set-up?

Do you lighten your draw weight?
What do you use for arrows?
Broad heads?

I would like to try this with a 12 Gauge back up. Also are there any laws that go along with this
Outside of the regular laws for pheasant hunting

Are you a hunter or do you just kill things? Respect the wildlife!

My dad used to do it back in the day! Not sure if he ever got one... but I think the ideal set up would be a recurve or longbow since it is easier to draw faster and you draw while aiming. You would want to go with flu flu feathers and judo points too so the arrows won't travel too far and still have a chance to find them. Sounds like a blast! I would love to do it sometime. I wonder if any game farms would let you bring bows there? I know my confidence would be higher knowing they're there!
The harder you work, the luckier you get!

Good idea. Can't imagine why they wouldn't let you but never asked.....

Maybe we should go.

Every farm I have ever gone to has absolutely no problem with bringing bows.  In fact they think it's cool and possibly a new area to explore for their business.

would they give you a break since your likely hood of hitting one is about 1%?  that's roughly the same chance tim has with a gun... but i digress.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?
