Did anyone make it out to Ripley? We did and it's a record harvest this year. My brother got a doe and our buddy Robert (Viking2233) got his first bow kill! It was a doe. I was at full draw on a doe and a guy walked right under me spooking the 4 deer. I was disapointed but not mad he didn't see me. He felt horrible. My Brother in law got busted drawing back on a doe. We all had chances and seen deer. It was a great time. If you have pics please post them. We seen some big bucks that people got and I wonder if any of you were the lucky ones.
Let the small bucks walk. Don't assume the neighbors will shoot them if you don't. If you shoot him what chance does that buck have to grow......ZERO!

congrats on the deer. any deer with archery tackle is a trophy. I think everybody in the sport needs to start remembering that.

Glad you guys had a good time.  That place can be packed so I can understand a guy accidentially walking under you.  That's too bad but Im glad you also understood and didn't go off on the guy.  It can be a tough hunt.

I went one year and sat at the weighing station for a while and saw some real bruisers.

The curse still stands!  I didnt hear the monday results but there was only 103 deer taken sunday.  I never thought i could get sea sick in a tree! I had a nice 8 at 20 yards yesterday morning and when i shot there was a loud SNAP and pieces of my arrow flew everywhere, scared the crap out of me and the buck. either my arrow had a weak spot or the "curse " stikes again. I had one more doe in range and gave her a hair cut , a little off the top.

I also know a guy who's grandma owns 640 acres that borders ripley.  He makes a point of hunting the weekends that the organized hunts happen.  He has taken some very nice deer and has told stories of some even nicer ones that slip by.  In case you are wondering I have tried everything, except for hiding in his truck when he leaves to be able to hunt that land with him!!

Sorry to hear you didn't score.  I had an arrow blow up on me like that last year; it sounded like a .22 being fired.  Now I never hunt with practice arrows.

Don't get down on yourself though.  It's a long season so you could still get one.

Boy, 640 acres is a lot of land to hunt by himself. He must be greedy.
