i have heard some people talking about using their rod and reel and looping th e line around the rattle reel a couple times, so that when the bells move, they just pick up the rod and can fight the fish on a rod rather than by hand.

can someone explain how to set up the line to do this?

thanks in advance!

Never tried the method described above, but I can say it is a ton more fun fighting those pike at the end of a stout ice rod.

I picked up an Ice Rigger last fall and had the opportunity to put it to good use last winter.
