This year we had 11 hunters at the Jim Moline Gang deer camp in waskish (by Upper Red Lake).

Seven of our hunting party are MNO members BigBuckHunter, Flying Three-nicorn, Big D, JakerGreen, dabahrden, myself and new MNO member "URL deer hunter".

We ended up with seven deer harvested (with two guys still out hunting yet).  We hunt public (state forest) land.

Yes, I am wearing my MNO jacket!

I was lucky enough to harvest four deer (picture below).

My uncle (MNO username: dabahrden) got this nice 9 pointer (picture below) and and 11 ptr (not pictured).

We have the Jim Moline Gang's biggest buck trophy that we pass around each year.  I am pretty sure "dabahrden" will be adding his name to the trophy this year.

Congrats Brett!

This year my son (MNO username: Jakergreen) started hunting with us.  He had a great time sitting with my dad (MNO username: Big D) in the stand.  They only saw one deer, but made lots of memories.  I think it had something to do with JakerGreen either talking or reading books, while grandpa rested his eyes  :whistling: or it could have been their farting contest (no clear winner determined)  :rotflmao: or the fact that I snuck up behind them and stood with in twenty yards of them for ten minutes before either of them noticed me.  ;)   No matter, they had fun spending time together.  :happy1:

I walk while we hunt and push the deer to our other hunters in stands.  Two of the deer I harvested, jumped up (out of their beds) while I was attempting to push them to my dad and son.  Both started running the direction I wanted them to, only to turn and head off another way.  When they changed direction I shot and put them down.  I had my personal best year in 2008.  I would have traded my success in for Jakergreen to get one shot off.  Maybe next year?

Actually, Jakergreen and I will be hunting in the Black Hills yet this year.  So, maybe he will get one sitting with me?!

Here is a picture of my dad, grandma, sister, and son and I.  Four generations of Moline gang deer hunters.  :fudd:

We named our deer camp (the Jim Moline Gang) after my late grandfather who passed away in 1997 while heading out to his favorite deer stand in "The Pines".

Dennis,
Great stories and great pictures.  It gives us a feel of how things go at the Moline camp.

We stopped by Braham on the way back from the cabin to drop off my grandma.  She showed my son the largest deer we have harvested by URL (to my son) and to two other new members of the Moline Gang deer hunting party (grandma shot it in 1981).

My grandfather (Jim Moline) was a taxidermist.  Grandma had brought this big brute downstairs (before leaving for Red Lake) to brush him and touch him up.

I have attached the picture below.

Congrats on the good year Dennis. Glad to see the fun and pics of your hunting camp. Over the years ours has gotten smaller and smaller do to the younger kids moving away once out of school. Is that Steve Prostrollo in the pic? Howd he do this year?

Hey Ben.  Yes, that is Steve Pro.  He missed a doe and had a couple smaller deer come by his stands, but didn't want to shoot a young one.
