The ice is getting better as the days go on!  Currently area lakes are averaging 8"-10" of great ice, with temps so low I'm sure that number is increasing quickly.  Many are starting to put their bigger houses out.  There are a few lakes that just froze solid within the last few days, so please, still be careful on the lakes, remember to check the ice!  A lot of people are reporting action on most lakes, nothing of major size, but definitely fun for the beginning of the season.

Fat heads and shiners have been doing the best right now.  A few people were getting nice blue gills in the area on waxies.

Best lake for walleyes right now......Big Pine!  Many reports came in yesterday that the walleye were going crazy.   :fishing:   I will keep everyone posted if any new reports come in today.  I'm thinking its going to be a little slow most of the morning with the snow falling but the temp is going to be making some more great ice!
 :cold:

Good luck everyone....And have fun!!!!
