Who all is still fishing this? Last time out for me was mid December and did pretty well with the eyes. Have a buddy who fishes it a lot and might head out with him on Sunday. He was out a couple of weeks ago and limited out on eyes over 18" in about two hours with two guys in the boat. It can be cold, but it has it's rewards on the river. Plastics are working great right now.

I couldn't tell ya the depths for sure as I wasn't along. I know they go up towards the damn up there and in that area you are pretty golden. You just have to move around till you find them. It's a good time out there for sure.

Right, nobody will believe me without pics.  How did my grandpa make it without a digital camera?

Exactly BB.  Too many people want everybody to think they are the best fisherman on the forum and end up posting pics of obvious spot's, post pics of tiny fish, take credit for spot's and bite's that aren't there's and so on and so on.  The net is a great tool but it can also become the death of a good bite when used foolishly!!

Well fishing on pool4 was O.K. today.  Our boat of 3 probalby got 60 walleye/sauger but size just wasn't there yet for us anyway.  Majority of the other boats we talked to had similar succes with the exception of a few that had caught one really nice fish or two.  What was really cool was the amount of large pike we seen caught.  We got 2 of these pike and they where around 35" and fat!!  Also talked to a couple of guys  and one of them had caught a 16" crappie along with a few other's in the 12" range so there is a good Multi-species bite going on right now.  Blade baits where working well along with jigs and plastic's with green being the best color.  Most of our fish came and steep breaks from 20 feet to 28.  This bite will only get better from here on out!

Was the guy that caught the crappie in a green Warrior boat?

Yeah, a fairly new one.  They pulled the fish out of the livewell to show us the thing went fromhis elbow to his finger tips!!!  They also had some 12 inch crappies I guess they found a pretty good area for crappies down there!

Thanks for the report! Glad to see the fishing is good down there. I'll be down there on the 28th. Hopefully the hogs will be out in full force.

I believe Sonar is just a brand name for a blade bait but yes basically the same thing.  Evert's resort, Ike's, Four Season's all have a good selection of blades.  they work well pitched or vertical jigged.  My personal experiance with them, not saying this is always the case, is they are a good bait for the numbers game as the smaller fish race to them. I have not gotten many fish over 18" on them yet, but that doesn't mean it can't happen!!
