Just heard the Wild signed Backstrom to a four year contract.... Man... I was really worried they were gonna blow that one like Gabbys contract.....(or Rolston... or Demetra... )   At least they have some trade material if they decide to do something now to get some goals in the net....

Backstrom  I would have been upset had they let him slip away. This team is like all other MN teams they are so close but cant seem to put the puzzle together.

I'm glad they resigned him, without this guy in the net they'd be losing a lot more games than they have been.  Hopefully they can turn things around and still make the playoffs.

I think he forgot he is supposed to stop the puck, he got his deal and has not looked very good since.

umm... have you watched the games lately?  yeah, he has let in a few stinkers... but the defense that is being played in front of him has been pathetic.  You try and stop a 5-3 penalty kill for 2 minutes with the crappy defense provided.

at least he hasn't let one in from someone flipping one in from the redline.

Yeah, the team almost doesnt deserve him right now... Bruno shouldnt be playing(with his knee), that shows ya how hurting they are, and its more than Gabby being out.... if they didnt aquire Nolan to "make up for" losing Demitra, Rolston & Fedoruk... who knows where we'd be... Im still hoping Gabby comes back & sparks the team a bit, if it aint too late... & signing him to a one year deal (then getting something in a trade ) wouldnt be a bad Idea....

They say hes got concussion like symptoms... he must have got hit... before they pulled him though he was not playing to his normal level, I was wondering what happened to him a week or two before they quit playing him... Hope hes ok... was my favorite player last year, plays with nearly total abandon...   John... ya got any insider stuff on Burnsie?
