I have already started to put deer mineral (multi vitamin/mineral supplement) out.  Does anyone else do this, they deer absolutely love it, and I really think it helps antler growth.

I'm waiting tell the snow is down more. Those are to heavy to carry out there on foot. I've been using those rocks that they have in Running's and Gander etc. The deer just love them things. They are kinda spendy though. I think they are about 16.00 a rock.

Most of these are tough to come by in the woods. Salt mostly is what "attracts" deer to it.

I live in NW Ontario and would love to get some mineral for my property. Any ideas? There is nothing I can find around this area.

I am sure they would ship mineral up there, but the shipping prices would be pretty high I imagine

No doubt would it be spendy to ship. You would be shipping some pretty heavy stuff.

I've never tried a mineral lick like  "trophy rock" but I was thinking about trying it but wanted to see if they work better than salt. I use Deer Cocaine blocks and they devour them up.
Let the small bucks walk. Don't assume the neighbors will shoot them if you don't. If you shoot him what chance does that buck have to grow......ZERO!

I just put out 4 trophy rocks on Sunday. Where I put some last year they had about 4 to 5 inches of the dirt gone. I think I put out about 8 last year. I used to use the salt blocks and the mineral blocks that wouldn't get hit that much, but they just love those trophy rocks. :toast:

I've tried salt blocks and they don't work half as good as the trophy rocks.

Ive used those Trace Mineral blocks from Fleet Farm for years... put it this way, the spots where I have put them have huge craters a few feet deep now... deer love them.  we hunt public land so I figure it helps keep them in the area & helps the deer.  Just dont use the ones with any grains or food/flavors cause if your hunting near them, its considered baiting.  But yeah, they sure hit them hard all summer! :happy1:

Antler king works great. Not necessarily the protein blocks, but the deer mineral.  The key is to look at the ingredients and do your research on the product.  See if other have had success with the product.  Like trophy rocks, the deer love them, but from personal experiences and what I have heard from others, they don't do anything for the deer.
Most of the Antler King products work well. I have tried many out in the pen and in the wild. Honey Hole is a big hit. Like cocaine for deer. I guess I was wondering how many others use it? As I said I am considering being a dealer for the product out of my shop.

Hey guys, i have been a firm believer in C' mere deer for a few seasons now. I have holes dug in the ground by the deer to prove that it works. However lately i was turned on to a homemade recipe which can all be purchased at a feed mill or in my case, Fleet Farm.

50lbs. - di-calcium phosphate
100 lbs. - red trace mineral salt (LOOSE W/OUT MEDS)
50 lbs.- stock/ice cream salt--- This can be replaced by hy-phos. it cost a few more bucks but premotes antler growth and milk production.

The first 3 ingr. can be purchased for under $30, if you use hy-phos it will run about another $15.

Put the licks out a week ago and going to check the cameras this weekend.

I did that last year. Deer didn't touch it but heard they do in the spring more so anyways.

I tried C'mere deer in the pen. The deer avoided that area for weeks.
