A friend who moonlights at Cabelas' tells me that a guy bought up every single round of 9mm ammo.  He even requested the ammo out of the back room.  Dropped like $4000.00+ for ALL of it.

What gives?  Anyone else hearing this?

Do you know what Cabelas? I know a lot of people there. I could maybe find out more.

Rogers.  My guy works behind the gun counter there and witnessed it.

Pehaps he is afraid of the new ammo bills becoming law. Kinda a Y2K fear just more real.

i say everyone should do that just to make a statement and let our ammo companies know we wont be man handled by our gov!

wouldnt it be nice if we could empty out all of their reserve for a while and make national news. and then they would think hell is gonna break loose but months will go by and nothing will change. maybe that will change thier minds

Why would the store let one buyer purchase their entire inventory  going to disappoint a lot of other customers looking to make a purchase till their next shipment comes in. Sounds a little fishy, maybe a large purchase but the entire inventory?

My shot supplier for trap reloads said that the Chinese are buying up lead again.
He figured we will see a 50% to 75% increase in lead prices by late spring if not earlier.

He also said he can't get rifle or pistol primers in any bulk at all, only able to get a 1000 here or 500 there.

He had to order from a guy in Texas to get his primers for the trap season.

I think it is great when people get paranoid and start buying every thing they can. It drives the cost through the roof for the even keeled people out there. :banghead:

To some people it is a major threat. Well it is a major threat to everyone but some see it as the end. Hopefully we have enough in congress with some sense, to see through it. Cuz it won't work.

Seriously some are real concerned about it. I know of three concrete underground gun/ammo vaults being built this spring. I don't think they are just blowing smoke as 2 of them already have started getting the materials to do so.

It's hard to find any handgun ammo. When WM gets some in, it's a few boxes of 40 & 45, and maybe 50 boxes of 9mm.  2 hrs later it's all gone.  Blame it on the liberals great ideas to stop gun violence.

It's definately a panic situation with regards to ammo and guns.  It's like the housing market was down south a few years ago. If you saw something for sale, you better buy it now, cause it wasn't there the next day.

Hopefully more people will come to their senses before the mid-term elections.

I think it has something to do with obama but who knows? Chinese buying lead again? how do I start buying with them ? I was told if you buy more than 500 rounds of one size you are flagged and the Feds can and usually watch you ? idk if that is true?

We were at the St Paul gun show this weekend, no one had any 9mm,.380 and only a few had .40,.45 and the .38/.357 mag ammo.

Even the .223 and 7.62x39(Russian) ammo was low in supply there.

People were buying any thing they could get, even paying over $45 for a 1000 pistol primers.

I was talking to a Coon Rapids cop tonight, he said they have been buying thier own ammo lately due to shortages of ammo from the department.
He said he had heard of a Chicago PD going to stores like Cabela's and buying pallets of 9mm and .40 S&W for thier training departments.

Maybe that was what happened up at Rogers??

I stopped in at Fleet Farm in Blaine last night.  The hand gun ammo shelves were empty except for 1 box of .40.

Nope, just a regular guy who charged it to his credit card.  I stopped back into Cabelas' last week and same situation again, no 9mm, no .38, and most .40/.45 was gone too.  Sounds like it's that way across the country.

Check online and see who has ammo.  Gunbroker.com is an auction site for ammo, similar set-up as e-bay.
