I just received this e-mail.  Very impressive.

Only in Alaska ....... This guy raised an abandoned moose calf with his
Horses, and believe it or not, he has trained it for lumber removal and
Other hauling tasks. Given the 2,000 pounds of robust muscle, and the
Splayed, grippy hooves, he claims it is the best work animal he has. He
Says the secret to keeping the moose around is a sweet salt lick,
Although, during the rut he disappears for a couple of weeks, but always comes home...... Impressive !!

Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

i would say that if he had a moose that big he would have to cut off the antlers because people tend to kill trophy size domesticated game. we used to have a deer farm around here (kind of like a zoo) and you could go in and pet them and things. well one night some people went in there and killed some of those big bucks and took the antlers and capes. i also hear about this with elk and they do cut off the antlers. the straps also look like they are photo shoped.
my wife said it.... im OFFICIALLY ADDICTED to MNO!!

This photo was making the rounds about a year ago here. It was sent to the local newspaper along with an explanation that someone who knew someone had taken the photo of so and so in Montana using the moose to log with. The paper printed the photo and story in the paper, and printed a retraction the following week after someone ran it through snopes. I'll admit, it is a cool picture though. Here is the link:
