It has been brought to my attention that several fishermen would like to defeat the current M-N-O Champs. This can only be done if they remain together as a team and not be broke up to enter the draft. This would only be the defending team, all others would still have to enter the draft. So enter a vote here if ya want to go up aganist the old men again..

I think that every year the defending champs should be allowed to come back the next year to defend their crown. Sounds like fun.

I don't want to be on your team. I'm going to beat your butt this year.

My vote is yes. Let's beat those old guys.

I'd say yes if I knew HD was going to be on my team to have another crack at those guys.

I think that it's a new year so there should be new teams. That way everyone has a chance to win. So my answer is NO!

I think unless you get half the people in the challenge to vote you should probably stick to the original rules.  A sample size of 13 isn't really a poll in my opinion when we have how many people signed up?

Good point General.

To me this is like saying "O.K. you guys - the world champions - now that you have your team running on all cylinders - an exceptionally well choreographed squad of power, speed and finesse -  get to keep your team intact. But the rest of you guys have to start over from scratch."

If the rules are gonna change midstream again it should also work for returning teams that may wish another shot. Like whats good for the Goose is also good for the Gander. I am all for a new rule that includes the winners stay together until they are dethroned. But there should be some kind of clause that when they lose the title they get a public tar and feathering or the like.

I think the Defending Champs should be able to team up again.  I mean them winning the first time had to be a fluke.

I say let the "old guys" have another go around. I don't know about every year, but I could see letting them defend it for one year before retiring that team.

I say let them try to repeat. Obviously the other teams from last year need some re-structuring to knock them off or they wouldn't be the champions. I for one am looking forward to taking them out!! training-087

Tim,

The 2008 and still reigning 2009 championship team quit screwing around many years ago. That's why we were so able to focus on only fishing and victory. Yep the days of screwing around have long passed, but will never be forgotten. Why do you think we nicknamed Bobby "Captain Limpey". It's sure not because he walks funny.

What! I just turned 46 and I'm concidered old? And just when I got all my mid-life toys bought I gotta sell em for old man toys...Bummer. Looks like a new John Deere lawn tractor in this old mans future.

I would love to have my same team this year. Those other two guys are strong and carried me quite well last year. But is it really fair to have a team of three PRO's against a field of ROOKIES?

I have been practicing catch and release until the contest starts.

Well it's good to see you back in the fracas Big slick. However, Bobby and I have been worried about you noting  your absence from this thread. Even though your fishing skills have improved tremendously your physical appearance has suffered tremendously. I can't believe the way you've let yourself go since you took that job driving the Hamm's truck.

When I compare your picture on the avatar to your current photo with that great fish I was shocked. You've really let yourself go pal. Regardless Bobby or I would still be proud to wind up on your team. Good luck in the draft.

I say the champs can decide if they would like to stay together for the next year contest. if they get beat they go to the next draft. seems fair?

I say no.  It's a bit of a lottery in the first place.  There's obviously some that get out fishing more often then others and some that have luck, talent or just great fishing spots.  Let's give eveyone a chance to end up on one of those guys/gals teams!
