I'm going to be purchasing one for my wife.  What if any recommendations do you all have? Brand? Features?  Something middle of the road I'm guessing.

Wow not a single MNO member has one of these?  I understand why men (we don't need directions) don't but someone must have some knowledge about these things.

I bought a Garman two years ago and really liked it. The problem I have is that the streets are always updated and you have to pay if you want to update them once a year. Tom Tom's seem really nice if you pay the money for the good ones you get up to date traffic on it.

I bought a Sprint Instinc as my phone a couple of months ago and haven't used the garman since. My phone has turn by turn on it. The maps are always up to date, it constantly checks for traffice and will re-route you if you choose when there is a big slow down. For me, this is the best option to have an all in one device to do everything.
Friends are like buttcheeks..........crap might separate them, but they come together in the end.

Thanks Sandmann I'll have to look into it.  Out in the sticks where I live the streets don't change much, but I can see in the cities that might be a very good feature to have.
