How come it only takes a few hours to put the boat away in the fall but a couple of afternoons to get it ready in the spring? I mean I am just undoing what I did in the fall. Tackle boxes go back in, rods go back in, tarp comes off sounds like a simple chore. But then I seem to get side tracked. This year the tires were looking pretty weathered check so I went shopping and bought new rubber, then as long as I had the wheels off I painted the rims before I took them to be mounted. As long as the wheels were off I then packed the wheel bearings but not until I had to go out and buy a new grease gun because I could not find any of the three I own ( Yes I have sons) With tires on the tarp was removed and somehow leaves had found there way in. Now I had to vacuum the boat out. Next up fresh gas in the tank so down to the gas station to get gas and then the store to make sure I had enough oil for the injector system. Back home again I spend some more time looking for the muffs to put on the outboard only to find out my son had borrowed then along with the garden hose.

Next day finds me sorting through tackle boxes and looking for the boat straps. A replacement roller for the bow of the trailer is rediscovered and now after two years is finally installed. Batteries are on the charger and new plugs are in the motor. Now it is nothing more then putting all the tackle boxes back in their spots putting rods in their holder, finding the net looking for the short in the floodlight and replacing the ruler with a longer one. This is about the time when the neighbor comes over and asks when we are going fishing! I don't say much as I am trying to find which box the flare kit and extra rain coats are at and find the bug spray can empty.

Am I the only one who goes through this every Spring? ( by the way putting the boat together is one of the more enjoyable things I get to do every spring. Putting it away is the hardest)

Wow you had your hands full! I had a easy prep for the season. Just washed and vaccumed it put a new anchor on the deckhand and charged the batteries. Things that still need to be done are oil change and repack the wheel bearings. Its hard for me to believe your sons are responsible for the missing tools!  :whistling: ;D (my dad has the same problem)

you just need to get a less complicated boat, or not worry about the leaves.  I just drive down the road and the leaves clear out behind me  :whistling:
This is the internet, please remain calm.  I mean you no harm...

I just picked up a new, used boat myself....I can hardly wait to use it.  I found a new dealer in Elk River called National Repo Depot.  the owner is an old Tracker rep that started his own deal and is selling GE and Textron Factory repos.  Might check them out if you get a chance.
