I'm looking to build a few box ground blinds for the upcoming deer season.   Does anyone have any suggestions?  They are going to be in high winds (south dakota), and probably left out there year round.  I would appreciate any advice.

We built a couple portables for the big winds of South Dakota a few years ago. They were hexagonal and hinged to fold flat when not in use. The six sides seemed to stand better than a four sided blind I think because the wind deflects a little better because of the angles. The six sides give you better shooting angles over a box as well.

The more sides you can get away with the better off you will be as far as wind goes. Unless you have the option of quartering it into the prevailing wind for the area.
The idea of having them break down with hinges is a good one. I would be interested in seeing the design on that because you might be on to something.
