Tuesday 6/9/09 Report

Had 2 trips scheduled for Mon 6/8 but cancelled both due to bad forecast of thunder storms.

Tuesday 6/9

I took out regulars Jeff Carlson and son Tim along with uncle Guy for his first trip. This was their first of two trips scheduled this week. Today wound up being one of their best outings ever catching a good variety of hefty S/M & L/M bass. The water over at the launch looked like coffee with cream from the storms the day before and I had mixed feelings about the days fishing forcast.

My concerns about the fishing were soon forgotten as uncle Guy slammed into a big largemouth being the first to score. The fish stayed active all morning and the guys were pumped all morning as well. Days like today make a body forget about some of those outings when we have to struggle to eke out a few good ones. We've started to move out a little deeper lately (18/24 ft) to find some of those post spawn fish. Lots of suspended fish showing up these days with the ones closer to the bottom being more vulnerable.

*The great charm of fishing is that we are always learning.

See Ya on the water,
