The weather has been almost perfect up north lately.  Don't let that fool you, fall is on the way.
That means that the very best fishing of the entire season is also on the way.   :fishing:

Walleyes will start to move into very predictable locations as the water temps begin to fall.  We have already started to use our typical fall fishing presentations to catch fish.  I am catching most of my Walleyes on a jig and minnow pattern.  Sharp drops off of deeper mainlake structures is a key pattern this time of the season.

As the water cools into the low 60's and upper 50's this fall pattern will get even better. It is the best time of the season to get big numbers of Walleyes in a short period of time, all on one spot.  You also have a shot at some of the largest Walleyes in the system.

So while everyone else is out in the woods killing stuff, take advantage of the great fishing.
In most cases you'll have the lake all to yourselves and the fishing for almost every species will be the best you have seen all season.  It may be a little cool out there, but it will be well worth the extra effort. ;)
