I have a new lab puppy (4 mo old now) and am looking for a trainer.  Does anyone have a recommendation for a trainer in the Minneapolis area?  I do not plan on doing any field trials, just looking to end up with a well behaved gun dog.  I looked at Cannon River Kennels as well as On line Retrievers.  Does anyone have experience with either of these?

Chad and Jodi Hines

Willow Creek Kennels in Little Falls will turn your dog into a hunting machine........

Check out Wings and Whistles Dog Training. They are located just west of the cities in Watertown. Great bunch of folks over there and I was very happy with the training my dog received.
Here's to a long life and a merry one.

I would also look into West Country Kennels.  Brian will do a great job training your dog.  My brother has had his lab thru there and I also have sent my pup there.  Both have come back and are great dogs.

I know of a few wonderful trainers, but the one that seems to stand out among the rest is David Russell at On-lineretrievers.com.  He takes alot of pride in his job as a trainer and not only trains/teaches your dog but also helps you understand the concepts behind the work.

Tim Landecker @ TKO Kennels. Greg Schriener in Stacy. Sam Daly @ Northfield kennels. Tim Springer.

I would send a dog to any of these guys. Tim and Greg do go south in the winter so a dog can get a lot done in 3- 4 months. All will give a solid OB foundation and FF and CC.

Chad Hines is good, Greg Dixon from Backwoods Kennels is good, but as far as a good one and an affordable one I would call Don Erlandson at Captains Kennels in St. Croix Falls WI.  715-488-2217
