on the board with a 15-17 point non typical Monday morning in 230. We registered it at Cabela's in Owatonna to see how they would score it. One of the workers said he would score it at 15 point and the other worker said he would count 2 more on right side for total of 17 point. I'll go with 15 for the sake of argument. Pics posted in 2009 deer hunting contest picture thread.

How has the rest of the team done so far this season?

Harvested a button buck this morning in same area as the non typical we took the other day. He came through with a big Doe around 820am. I shot her first and he stood there so I shot him too. He dropped in his tracks, but she went bouncing off toward the ravine. We followed a weak blood trail a couple hundred yards til it went down the ravine to the river towards neighbors land/field. Must have just knicked the shoulder/leg on the angle shot I'm guessing. We looked for a long time thinking she may cross back over and circle around but didn't see a trace of her or any more blood trail.

I'll have to post a pic tmrw afternoon, i left my shotgun at Dad's when I came back to register this deer.

Another 110 points for Team "15" when i post the pic with my MNO hat on  :-D

Holy cow, Scott, you go from a 17 pointer to a nubbin.  Your headed the wrong way buddy.  Sorry to hear you couldn't find the doe.  I know it hurts a little when they get away like that.  Good luck with the rest of your hunt.

Yah that's a tough one to leave the woods on during any hunt with not finding one but with the blood trail just completely disappearing at a point we figured it must have been just a flesh wound that clotted up and she kept going on her way. After the initial "nudge" when I got down from my stand we did let her go for awhile before following to allow her time to lay down and stiffen up but she didn't so I hope she made it out ok.

So where does that put us for standings do you think?  I see they haven't updated it for a while.

With the pics posted since last scoring update, that puts us into 1st place with 690pts

Team 8 in 2nd with 470 pts
Team 3 in 3rd with 330
Team 18 in 4th with 260
Team 19 in 5th with 230

if anyone else posts pics for any of these teams right behind us, obviously that could change the running order

Way to go guys, your are really knocking them down.  I have another but will wait to see what my teem members do this weekend.  The guys I hunt with have taken all my weapons away (bow, gun and muzzle loader) so now I'm looking into a potential spear, knife or lasso season.  :rotflmao:

Well we might be upgrading one of the bucks this weekend.  I'm heading up to moose lake for one last weekend of fun and we have a few big boys on the camera recently.

Good luck for the rest of the season.  Looks like we are tie for now.  I doubt I will add any points.  Too bad the one I got with the bow had a broken browtine.

yeah to bad my buddy blew off part of the rack on mine.  otherwise it would have been a nice 8pt.  Oh well life goes on.  Had a good morning scene quite a few deer just not the right buck.  I'm thinking upgrade now not killing anything that moves.

Well heading out this weekend to try to improve our score and get some more meat for the freezer.  Looking to take a doe or the big ten that still left.  By my calculations if i take a doe we would be up by 10 and up by 20 if i add the mno sign.  Am i correct?  it will be a cold morning :cold:

We can upgrade your 6pt to a doe and that would give our team a 10 pt lead and if you add MNO in the picture it would give us a 20 pt lead correct. A 10 pt Buck upgrade to your 6 pt buck would add 40 pts above your 6 pt score and with the MNO in pic it would add 50 pts over your 6 pt score.

Good luck!

Well our team has 6 deer and your team has 6 deer.  So how is that going to work then?

ice,
for some reason I though with Scott's 15 pointer, you only had 5 deer.  Shucks, now I have to come up with a different tie breaker.  Then again, we can split the prizes and be co-champions.
