My son and I are heading out the door.  It's 5 am in Spearfish, SD.  We have an 11 hour drive to deer camp in Waskish, MN.  I would like to wish everyone a safe and successful hunting season.  I will check in when we are back in a week.

So how was the hunting in minnesota? Couple buudies that hunt up by blackduck and red lake said deer herd looked pretty skimpy but the wolf herd looked healthy. ;)  Whats  the hunting been like in the black hills this year?

It was raining everyday while we were hunting in northern MN.  We ended up with a doe and spike buck.  We did see several other deer, but did not have clear shots.

It has been abnormally warm in the black hills this fall.  I have had several friends harvest nice deer.  I have a doe tag left to fill before the end of November.  My son has a youth tag that is good until end of Jan.

We are seeing a ton of deer around the area.

We are starting Thanksgiving morning and will be getting out until Jakergreen gets a deer or two or the season ends at the end of Jan.  Which ever goes first.
