Yeah Red... you can do worse at that station... :whistling:  Though I think I got a bird or two there, the last two shots I hit nothing but wood on the first shot.... remember that woodpile up close and to the right of the stand? :rotflmao: :doah: that hurts when you dont even let yourself have a chance at hittling a target! :banghead:

Thanks for the vote of confidence!  If I come across a set like that again, I will excuse myself to the parking lot to get a handful of rocks......

cody what are you shooting?  IC is good so is light mod if you have 1 barrel.

I have a modified in for now.  Should I change and get one step tighter?

Red if rocks dont work, you can always do what I do.... just run out there and take a Jim Thome like swing at em with your gun! :rotflmao:  A modified choke would be fine for those targets we just shot.... you'll probably find that more open chokes like an improved or even a skeet tube will be good for most of the targets thru the summer at Wild Marsh....  Pat wont be able to shoot on the 15th... he's fishing the opener, but I may go then and reshoot with Pat the weekend after... I need to get out and get some rounds under my belt if I plan on shooting some tourneys this summer....

Thanx Beeker... but Ive got a nice looong date with my yard this weekend... :doah: I havent even sent my NSCA ap in yet, cause I wasnt sure if I was gonna be shooting at all this summer... I figured I'd wait on it as long as I can, no sense shelling out that fee if I wasnt gonna be shooting tourneys... even if we lose our jobs, I plan on shooting hunter class for a tourney or two and then the state shoot at the end of the season, gotta think on the positive side though! :happy1: If our contract gets renewed.... I am gonna celebrate by going out and buying 3 or 4 cases of shells and shoot until my shoulder looks like 5lbs of raw hamburger....(that and a long row of JD shots soon after! :tequila;) Our big guns from my company are heading out to NY today for the big presentation/meeting with the owners.... should be hearing of our outcome pretty soon... (hopefully :whistling:)

well good luck to you on the job... nothing worse then getting stuck in limbo..   the next shoot I was planning was the super sporting.. but we skipped our forest lake league this week and that's half the entry fee. well at least that's the argument i used on the wife. plus I have never been to this club and like checking out the new course and seeing which ones I like.

if you other guys haven't shot any registered targets your first year membership in nsca is free and it's a good time with good targets

well theres been a change of plans for me, my buddys bugged me all week about fishing the opener with them on mille lacs and i gave in, so i wont be able to shoot this weekend. the following week is the super sporting at wild marsh i think, so i guess ill hit my targets on the way out of town on memorial weekend.

your right 2 weeks is super sporting.

I think the league shooting has been helping me zero in.. I shot an 83 at coyland in wisconsin this weekend. I may be in the running for a punch.. I hope..

I think I'm still in this weekend.. we only need to get 50 in right? or is it 100?

Red,  Im 50/50 on it righ now.... if this whole week is really wet, I may be booked all weekend doing landscaping/yard stuff at my sisters place....I'll know more later in the week.  Good score Beeker  (Guys...I think we have our team captain :whistling:)... That sounds very punch worthy... are you in C class still like me, or did you punch into B last year... This year isnt looking good for me to punch up a class with my lack of shooting, in fact, I may have to file to stay in C when/if I send in my NSCA ap here... but then again, ya never know I guess...maybe rip off a good outing at the State shoot... thats usually the best place for me to do some damage... when we have a bunch of shooters to go up against. :happy1:

I second the nomination of Beeker as team captain.  And yard work can wait......

i gotta see what the wife is up for as to when.  I'm in C class, still waiting for the scores to be published to see where I finished.

theres some good shooting goin on this year.. wisconsin state shoot is at emerald ridge which is just over the boarder and we have the zone 5 shoot.  now I just need my money tree to bloom and I'm in.  of course this year I have a chance at a mule deer tag in wyoming so if that happens the rest of the shoots are off as I need to save some money for the hunt

it was good shooting with you guys... we'll have to plan the next outing in a few weeks huh? picked up my lead (33$ a bag) at metro and started reloading last night. I'm excited for super sporting next week, feeling good.. as long as they don't use those last three stations of the blue course..

I'd be happy if they just erased that last station.... :banghead:  the good thing is, everyone will have a ball on that station just like we did.... I talked to Pat... told him it'd cost him $5 for Red's secret to that station! ;D  I'll probably be shooting again with Pat 1 & 2 this month, so I will have the chance to redeem myself on that one. :happy1:  I wonder if they will let you shoot league rounds on the Dixie Cup/cream puff day(Sat.?) this weekend?

You couldn't have asked for a better day to shoot.

$5 for my secret?  Charge him $20 so we can at least get a case of beer....

Looking forward to shooting with you guys again for the next rounds and thanks for the tips, the how-to's, and words of advice.  Made the rounds better for me personally and made the targets easier to read and make adjustments.

Pout, let me know when you run back up with the Pats, I could use the extra work.

big red.. your from like lino area ??? you can always swing into metro in blaine and shoot 5 stand or the tower.. it's close and easy and they have trappers there so you don't need to be with anyone.   or swing up to wildmarsh on saterday and shoot the cream puff and see if you like the idea of the nsca. you'll see some really good shooters up there, and they'll squad you with some guys. I can only think of a time or two where I was squaded with a dink. most guys just love to shoot and are happy to comiserate with you.

No, I live in Otsego so Metro is a bit of a drive.  Almost same distance to both WM and Metro.

Not sure of cream puff yet, but I am going to shoot 5 stand for kicks one of these days.

Red, we'll have to warm up on WM's 5-stand there next time, pretty cool, but not as fun as the regular sporting course... Metro has four different 5-stand courses, some easier.... some even more fun... :whistling:, the best 5-stand courses though are at the state 5-stand Championships, or the 5-stand courses at the state sporting shoot....  some wicked targets.....

Like I said, this sporting clay gig is all new to me so I do appreciate the tips and suggestions...

And to have a chance watching you two shoot is an added bonus, like watching a "How to" video.
