Mmmmmmmmmmm never had any lake trout but it sure sounds good! 

I got the family truckster all packed up minus food, drink and bait.  The first 2 I'll load in the morning, the bait I'll be picking up at Fish On! in Glenwood.  Gotta have fresh bait ya know!   

In case any of you missed it, I'm bringing:

-ketchup
-mustard
-chips (various kinds)
-paper plates
-garbage bags
-card table

I can't bring the kitchen sink-wife just won't let go of it.      Unless something changes I plan on us being there the whole day.  The mrs. will attend after her shift at work in the afternoon.  (Just as the hot bite starts I suppose)    I hope to see ya'll there.  (Yes I said ya'll, not yawl)

Believe me you do not want that kitchen sink.  It is like an A Bomb.  You only get those in divorce court.    If anyone really wants one I have a couple      See you tomorrow.  I am bringing  some of my fishing stuff but I hope to be taking pics. most of the time.  You will find me by the hot dogs.  If we don't have a grill we can use the muffler on my auger.  It works great on burning through columbia outerwear so I am sure it can cook a hot dog.  I can be spotted easy.  I will be the one with the camo outfit with the melted pocket.

Don't worry about the pocket. That is always funny. I think everyone did that the first time on a power auger. I remember My first time I ran one with the muffler facing me. I thought it suddenly started snowing like mad but did not stop drilling until I got a feather in my mouth. When the hot muffler melted the nylon shell on the down jacket I was wearing It was like a blizzard was going on.

I am going to try to stay until the sun gets 3 fingers below the trees.  I am guessing that is somewhere around 6:15 or 6:30.  What time do you get done tomorrow?

I drilled 1/2 a hole to hold the auger up and stood next to it.  Funny how it only works with a new coat.

I'll be loading up as fast as I can get the kids out the door and hope to be at Fish On by 10-10:30.  He already told me he was locking me up the hot spot tomorrow.  I will allow the guy with the grill to fish by me and the guy with the ketchup and mustard.  I'm planning on watching all of you fish hard while I set up my 2 tip ups and let them do the work while I talk tough.

I was about to say how much I would enjoy one of those ceeegars, I looked at your avitar and my legs cramped up and my back started hurting.  Just got off map quest.     Computer Says 2 hrs 21 minutes.  My folks are from Benson and my mother wanted me(and now all of you)  to know she swam across Lake Minnewaska when she was a teenager.  Should I be impressed?

Well it was great day out on Minnewaska.  Fishing was great-catching however was not the best.  But we all got to put faces with the names (sorry you had to see my face   ).  General & Doug "Fawkinnae" served up some mighty tasty dogs using Doug's kick azz grill!  

DDSBYDAY was there to oversee the friendly contest and try his hand at catching some fish for his dinnerplate.  Later on in the day, Wildlifeminnesota, Hunterdown and Bena showed up to show us hows it done.  

I pretty much stayed close to my portable with my kids.  They didn't want me over talking to the guys all day, intead to spend time with them.  Family time is most important.  

As for fish caught, there were a few bluegills caught by the Hunterdown/General team.  General lost a somethingorother under the ice as he was bringing it in.    That's sucks big time!  Would have liked to seen that toothy monster!  And the contest winner was Splinter.  He brought in the winning "big fish", a 15" largemouth bass.  Congrats kiddo-(he's my boy).  

And it certainly wasn't for a lack of trying.  The fish were simply not hungry.  I marked many fish all day long, not one taker.  But all in all it was a good time!  I even got to try on one of Wildlifeminnesota's beautiful pieces of work-a Coyote hat w/cape.  I'm very impressed.  My wife however said-"it's nice-but you ain't getting one".  

Hopefully we can make this an annual thing!  And hopefully we can have other get togethers (GT's) throughout the state and throughout the year so everyone can get a chance to try their luck, and meet the people we talk to on the site.  Thanks to everyone who planned this, and showed up!  And thank you to DDSBYDAY for holding the contest and for your generosity!

I am home now, It was a good day on the lake, as Scott was the fist one to get a 18 pike, As the The General Could not keep that tip up quite it sound like a cop on the lake and he could not ear this at on, as he broke the line on a 10+ lb pike, then he get a 13" bass off that same tip up,,,,,,,, As Jeff boy get a 15" bass, Hunterdown get some sunfish, As far as me and Fawkinnae I   we got skunk...... So the winner of the 50.00 was Jeff boy,,,,,Good for him,,,,,,

As I'am  to said  I was going to give The General  a hard time for losing that big pike, I can't Becuse as the guy with the camera should know how to work it,  all the phots are not there, as I put the card in my computer this morning and yes,,,,,, I did not put the card back in the camera  So yes you got to meet Today

 Right now feel bad that I have no photos as I turn on my computer the card pop up in a box, the really bad think was I had a spare in my camera bag in the truck, I really hop you all can forgive me it had been a hard week on me at the store,

Wildlifeminnesota, no worries man....we all make mistakes.  It's called being human.  Once I saw you had a camera I decided to leave mine in the truck.  Oh well it's not a big deal.  We all have the memories of the day.  (some of us longer than others)  My partztimerz is working toward alltimerz.      

And yeah-Justin was beaming with his prize money today.  I tried to get him to buy us dinner-no such luck!

I almost forgot, thank you Kyle at Fish On! in Glenwood for being the "headquarters" or meetin place for this shindig.  I picked up fresh bait, and some jigs from ATI (created by DDSBYDAY) which we used.  I intend to get out more this week-weather permitting and put these jigs through the wringer!   :fishing2:  (note-I said intend....we'll see)
