Fished Sunday 9/24 with Bob Zimmerman and his dad from 6:15 am 10:00 am. The guys needed to knock off the trip at 10:00 am so they could make it home in time to see Da Bears defeat The Queens.

They got their wish today with some good smallmouth fishing and a good Bears victory.
We started off trolling large 1 oz tandem spinner baits with a trailer hook and 7 inch plastic worm. Bob senior managed to slam a nice 29 inch pike while trolling at 2 mph.

As the daylight broke we headed to the east side of Cedar Point where the smallies were hangin out. Today's bite was a very finicky one with a lot of hangeroners (fish that pick up the bait, but just sit and hang on). They had to be teased into committing before setting the hook.

We managed to catch 16 smallmouth and before we knew it the clock struck 10:00 and it was time to cash it in. Thanks to the Zimmerman's I was able to race home and catch the kickoff while still getting paid for a full days trip.

See ya on the water,

Lee Borgersen
