My Brother fished the shallow rocks this evening and did very well. Still using slip bobbers and leeches. Kept two eaters at 18 & 19 inches and the rest were too big and too small. Sounded like a lot of fun....wish I was there :-\

Maybe i'll have to come out of retirement for the year.....Pheasants....walleyes? Pheasants.....walleyes...? Hmmm

Someone help me...

Just got off the phone.....said they are doing it again tonight with the same success. He is fishing the SE area and apparently there are only two boats out besides him....pretty quite for a weekend.

We fished the edge of 6-7ft rock bottom, where it dropped to about 10ft water. At first it was slow then we had a good round of hits between 8:10-9:00. If my fishing partner had more experience we would have had 6 to clean instead of the 3 we had for dinner. But it was some good fishing with no other boats around you in then way.

Mayfly, are we going to head up there this weekend?  I'm going skip my other plans and head there instead. The boat is full of gas and ready to go.
Anyone else going to be there 10/6-10/8?

Those are some nice looking fish. I have to agree Mayfly, it does create quite a dilemma.
Would I be familiar with this spot on the SE end? ;)
I'd love to get up there one more time, but with pheasant opener next week I doubt I'll have time.
Here's to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold pint-- and another one!

Ya....that whole area can be good, but it's also hit and miss, even during a hot bite. We just slide over 50 or 60 yards until we get on the fish again. Sometimes that makes all the difference.

FLockie, you sure are familiar. You got a brother? The bite has improved a lot since your post!
