Snow goose 2010!

We are startin g to plan for the 2010 trip west for snow's. I'm getting excited! Anyone else planning a trip? What's the plan?

We will go where the birds are the second weekend in March. Other tan that the plan is still being formulated. NOt much of a plan but you got to start somewhere!

not sure yet, but we been leaning towards north dakota more so, its easyer to access land there then it is in south dakota.

March will be kinda early for the dakota's this year with all the snow,I'll be on top of the migration as it unfolds and post migration reports for those interested,migration is relative to the snow line as it melts the birds move north,the the next thing ya know we'll get a blizzard and the birds move south to find feed,spring is way different than the fall migration.You would be surprised at how easy land access is for waterfowl out west,evry state I've hunted from Missouri,nebraska,Kansas and the Dakots's,few folks have a fondness for snow geese.

Hopefully early to mid march will put us in MO or maybe Nebraska depending on the snow line.

I am plannig on hittin the birds when they reach ol' nodak here. I had to turn down a trip to southern missouri this week because chemistry and math are kicking my butt and i cant miss them. Just talked to my hunting partners last week and they have everything ready to rock at a moments notice so whenever they get here we will be on the move! I cant wait to stay up all night setting decoys in the mud then sit for 12 hours in the wind, cold and rain!!!!!!

I'm getting a bit worried about this weather! I might have a further drive than I had hoped. It is hard to say as things can change fast but This may be the firs year I unt sout of SD. What do you guys think?

Its tough to tell. we have planed 4 week long trips and all 4 turned into a $#!+ show the week before and we ended up over a hundred miles from where we origonaly planed. All you can do is pray for some warm weather.

Checking the "snow pack" reports it seems the pack is pretty deep,most of NE has over 10"s still,northeast MO still has snow on the ground and had a few "s yesterday.Reports from KA should be coming soon.

Yeah i live in Grand Forks during the waterfowl seasons and move back out to lake winnie during the summers to guide for my girlfriends parents fishing walleyes. Pretty sweet setup because you have the best of both worlds as long as your a student out here. If any of you guys have kids or are going to school yourself i would suggest doing somthing like this because its been the best 4 years of my life! but as for snow geese im bankin' on some early april nodak juvy hunting over my rags and home made e-caller!

Sounds like a dangerous proposition considering Fubar eats Coot.....  Can we trust the kid????

lol i know a couple ppl that eat coot, my neighboor up by park rapids does ....but i think he does to much   but me i will

Yeah i will be running all over the nodak outback when the snows start to work their way up. And for the record those were northern-coldwater coot so they tasted like a good ribeye...haha  We finaly finished all 45 of them 2 weeks ago as ordervs with a big perch fry!

haha no eating of the crows in this tourny because they kept them so we couldnt enter them in the tournmaent the next day at another bar. My buddies (same ones from the coot feed) did harvest and eat a crow though, ill get the pictures and post them up. hahaha
