This spring is bringing an early jump to the open water fishing!  Yesterday there were over 50 boats on the river in front of the resort.  We are seeing some action but with ice still remaining on the lake the Walleye bite seems a little slow.  There are many Walleye under the ice right now and we are anticipating that once the ice is gone we will see those Walleye starting to come into the river.  The forecast is looking good for this to happen soon, highs for the week are forecasted to be in the 60’s.

It seems that the best action has been just outside the Lighthouse Gap near the ice.  There have been some 28 plus inch Walleye caught and a few eaters.  The Sturgeon fishing has been active.  We saw multiple fish over 40 inches caught in front of the resort yesterday.
