Do you have the empties. That is what would be needed if they are indeed 2 and 9/16. which is what a normal shell would be when loaded. When they say 2-3/4 inch shell that is after it's been shot. If ur talking about a 2-9/16 shell after it's been fired I wouldn't know where to obtain empties to help you out.

29/16 is the length of the older 16ga chambers

 You can find 29/16 shells and loading componants at a company called Ballistic Products Inc.
