Dam Beavers

Here are a couple pictures of beavers we trapped with help from Huntingmaxima.  The beavers built a dam next to the road and caused flooding.  I ask a poster here (Huntingmaxima) for help and he brought his equipment and set traps for us.  Thanks, David.

NIce work!  You should skin the tails and have them tanned.... they make a great wallet for your grandson!  I have a beavertail wallet 20 years old that looks great still.

They do taste very good smoked.

I would just like to add that Lewis and Clark loved eating beaver and talked about it in their journals - so you're in very good company. They described it as a delicacy.

I love the idea of making a wallet out of it.

Because it is out of season, we are not allowed to keep the beavers.  Maybe next spring.

That one on the left (in the group picture) is huge!  You caught six?  Nice work!  Did you have to get special permission since it was out of season?

Yep, we had to get a nuisance permit. It was only good for 10 days. You cannot save or keep any part of the animal. It all has to be discarded.
Deadeye, Any sign of anything left? Did you get the culvert cleaned out?
