Lake Geneva Report 6/14/10

Today was the first trip of the year for Steve, Mike and Scott. These guys are always a pleasure to have aboard because they never embarrass me by by saying "Lee, you told us that story already last year and the year before that!". We started out at 5:00 am sharp and the guys were all business with the usual competitive spirit.

This trip brought about a new pecking order in the standings. Usually Scott is on top of the leader board all day, but Mike had other plans today. Mike started off with the first 3 game fish and was feeling it. It was like he was in a zone of his own today. As competitive as these guys are their always happy to see each other score a fish. We worked the south shore casting crawlers and popping them through the weeds in 14 to 18 ft. The largemouth were still holding up tighter while the smallmouth were busy roaming back and fourth at eighteen + ft.

I decided to check out one of the major points of the lake and anchor. We anchored in 24 ft and were able to cast to 18 ft on one side and 29 ft on the other side. It was all smallies on this spot except for the rockies that we couldn't shake off our trail all day. Like they say "Time flies when your having fun" and that's just what happened today.

See ya on the water,

Lee

** Why do sharks like kayakers? Because they're crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.
