Fishing for the week went out with a bang today! The Walleye bite has been good, to say the least, all week. Today however, the big’ns were on the feed. One of our boats had 8 fish in a row over 25 inches. One had 3 fish over the 30 inch mark. Too many big fish for the guides to count today!

Not much has changed over the past week with technique and location. Our guides have been on the water every day following the big schools of Walleye out in 29-32 feet of water on the mud flats from the Gap to Zippel Bay. Depending on preference, anchoring and jigging or drifting with spinner rigs has been putting plenty of fish in the boat. We’ve been fishing farther north on the lake as well. The wind direction and speed plays a big factor on where our guides decide to head each day. Whether fishing north or south on the lake, fishing has been exceptional.

We are finally drying out here after a couple rainy weeks in early-mid June. Weather for the upcoming week is looking good. The weatherman is calling for a nice string of sunny and dry days to start off the upcoming week. Consistent weather should keep those Walleyes biting!

The 4th of July is coming up fast.  Don’t be fooled into thinking July isn’t a good month for fishing. The bite has been ON all spring and summer here. July is shaping up to be another great month of fishing! Some of the better fishing can be a considerable distance away in July, making a charter trip the perfect choice to hunt down those Walleyes. Don’t forget to ask about our July Specials.

Fish On!
