I was going to use the high brass Federal gold medals but was told they are to week for magnum rounds.

I don't have enough magnum hulls yet to reload too many, there must be an alternative?

That would help me get some thing going, I have a couple books on trap rounds and I do believe they cover the magnum rounds as well. But a proven recipe will always work good.

Thanks, Benny

Are those RIO's the trap hulls or are they high base hulls?I seen some Kemmin hulls tonight that were high base, wonder if they would work?

benny,
sorry i havnt been able to respond. been swamped at work. and yes i use the rio trap hulls and the kamen hulls. any thing with 4 stars and 4   12s stamped on the brass head is a chedite and will work for them.  i use the rios for 6 shot, pink kamens for 4 shot and the black kamens for max load 4 shot when the birds want to get up a long ways away or in a heavy wind.

I never liked reloading the high brass prolly cause I had a reloader once that didn't like them. When did federal start making gold medals in high brass?

Too bad those all plastic hulls ain't around anymore, they were the cats meow for magnum loads.
