Feral Pig Hunting

Anyone out there know or have information on Feral Pig Hunting in either MN or western WI.
I hear there may be some in St croix or Barron county in WI.  Haven't been able to find much on it for MN.
Looking for something to keep the trigger finger tuned up and maybe put some bacon in the freezer.
Any and all info much appreciated

I am pretty sure if you ask the dnr there are no ferral pigs in MN. I am not sure if they are considered the same nuicense animal everywhere like they are down south.

Wi does have them and I believe they are recognized by the DNR.

Was up near Hawthorne, WI a few years back at a drinkin' whole with friends and they had a friend come in with a bunch of freshly prepared feral pig. Was fantastic!!!! He had shot it 'not too far' from where we were according to him.

I know Wisconsin DNR says to shoot them if you see them.  They are mainly present in the Southwest corner of the state.  I am sure there are pigs in other areas.  But you hear most about them around there up to Buffalo County.

If you are looking to shoot a pig - the closest place I know of is near Camp Ripley/Little Falls.

I shot a small boar in West Texas just after Christmas in 2007.  I'll try an get pictures up.

I know alot of hunter down here in the Winona county area, and I havent heard anything about feral pigs in the area, but here is a map from the 2010 MN Feral Swine Report and if defenitely shows areas in Wisco where they could have crossed the border.  Unless they swam, there isnt alot of other ways across, since the mississippi is pretty wide down in these parts.  Its a possibility though.

Here's pictures of the hog I shot back in late 2007.  Weighed 117 LBS, boar with 1" tusks, and taken with a Savage 110, 30.06, and 165 grain bullet @ approx 87 yds.

And I forgot to mention, if you do take one, DO NOT GUT IT!!!!!!!!  My long time friend/guide (on the left in the bottom photo) highly recommends you quarter the legs out and cut the straps out.  Everything else isn't worth the time nor the mess and stink.

Grilled ours and actually the taste/texture very similar to store bought. A bit tougher to chew on though.

One of the craziest things you'll ever spot and stalk for.  They're vicious and really nasty with young around.

I know some guys that go down to Texas every year to shoot a bunch of pigs. I don't think they keep the boars.

  I forgot about that.... Yeah, I would suppose there are some spots where they could cross!  I wouldnt mind seeing some pigs running around here, I could go for another season of something to shoot -- as long as they dont mess any of the normal animals up (plus I bet they are tastey)!!!
