I am excited to show you a new line for the 2010 ice season.  You will see these in my avitar as well.   I call them ATI   Eye Drops.  They run approx. 1/32 of an ounce and can be made in almost any color you can imagine.  The 3d eyes are an exciting addition.  These are made with a #12 Kahle wide gap hook and can be used under a light bobber or spring bobber without a split shot.  The #12 Kahle hook also has enough backbone to bring in that pesky slime rocket that will try to grab your minnow or waxie from time to time.

I chose the Kahle hook because you can thread a waxie on it and it would very difficult for a fish to strip you of your bait without a hook up.

What I really like about the eye drops is they can be used anywhere you would use a plain hook with a split shot.  (slip bobber fishing)
I hope to have a few members of MNO field test these for me next summer in situations where a plain colored hook will go up against an eye drop of the same color.
As alway these are available in glow and non glow colors.   The eyes can also be custom colors.   (The small ice blades are the ATI Cyclops).  I have come up with a new design for those with a bigger hook eye.   Some of us have a little trouble now days getting that fine ice line in the little hole. ;D

LOOKIN' GOOD!  They have some tough company after the success we've been having with the ATI-47's - Now you have a complete arsenal for all fishing situations - Nice work!

Thanks MT.  These are designed for the deadsticks.  Lip hook a nice shiner or fat head and let the minnow work.  I will be posting some new color schemes for the ati-47s as we get closer to hard water. ;D

Thanks,

I'm alway looking for field testers.   The only thing is I would like feedback good or bad.  Pics are greatly appreciated.   I need to get some basic info from field testers like species-lake clarity-favorite colors-and fishing hours.  If you are active on this  ice forum and at least let me know that you received them I will continue to call on you from time to time.

I would like to get about 10 new field testers for this winter.   The results from last winter were great.   Anyone that provided any feedback last winter at all will be on my list for this winter.    I hope we can make this the go to ice fishing forum in the midwest.    :happy1:

Im excited to try the jigs on Minnewaska - Im hoping to get on the river again this year to get you some feedback for another year on the river, they were fantastic last year, and that was even when I was using them wrong.   :happy1:

Scott -- I would be interested in trying the Eye Drops on the set lines during ice fishing, try to see their comparison to normal hooks since we normally have 2-6 lines down at a time!  We can talk.

Woody- good to hear from you.  I will be sending your son some jigs before the ice season.   ( He won the first ATI ice fishing contest)  He can take first pick and let you try the rest.  I hope we can get together again this winter.  Your son will be the returning champ.  He is lucky,  he is too young to have to buy the loosers a round.    :happy1: :happy1:

I have a new panfish ice blade similar to the ones in the picture.  I use a size 21 saltwater kirby hook with a large hook eye.  These will be killer for the panfish on Minnewaska.  Even I can tie this hook on without cheater glasses.  Because it is a saltwater hook you could bring in a huge pike without the hook bending.  We will talk.  These hooks are so small the most negative sunny will never know what hit him. ;)

Nice looking jigs DDSBYDAY but how does a person use them wrong? I guess the question should be, what is the correct way to use these?

Well, my understanding, how Scott explained to me, was that with the off centered eye-lets, you dont need to use the vigorous jigging action like you would with all normal jigs.  With the ATI-47's, the bait will dangle a little more, allowing the bait to move a little more, giving it a more realistic action and you only need a slight jig to get the bait to move.  I was more used to the jigging spoons (swedish pimple) where you need to jig them pretty vigorously -- if that makes sense.  You can picture this a little more if you look at the ATI-47's.

We are not talking about the same ice lure here.    I will post a pic tomorrow am.  The ATI-47 takes a little practice.

ATI-47 is not in the pic.

Here is a pic of the ati-47.   Available from 1/32oz to 10 oz.  Many colors including glow colors.  Very effective through the ice for multiple species.

I believe that is the one my son and I used last year ice fishing.  We were both very pleased with the results.  Hope to improve on that this coming ice season.  :happy1:

Went to the ATI site and looked at the ATI-47's. That combined with MTCOMMER's reply I think I understand the usage now. Didn't see any ordering info on the site such as prices, colors, sizes, etc. Would like to get a few and give them a try.

If you would like a little more info follow this thread.   My good friend wildlife posted a couple of pics  last winter and I still have not caught up.  I unfortunately made the web site myself and will try to  put more info on there but it is always a struggle.  Right now after a trip to Lac Seul in Canada I am working on a new project.   I think this simple modification on a run of the mill jig head will be huge for Mn. and Lac Suel.

OK. So now I have this link that shows me the nice walleyes that were caught with the 47's last winter but I still don't know how I can buy some. If I become one of your field testers, would that enable me to get my hands on a few? They really look like they would work great. Has anyone tried trolling these with circle hooks?

Send me you address  in a pm.  I will send you a couple to try out.  These are best fished vertically.   I do put circle hooks on the saltwater versions but again for vertical presentations.  I have some smallmouth patterns that could  be cast out and bumped back.  My prefered size is 3/8 oz. for ice fishing.

If I was to troll with it, it would be a very slow troll. Just fast enough to get the blade to turn over. With a small blade I would guess around 1 mph, maybe less. So it would be very close to vertical. I would like to try them ice fishing though.

PM sent.

This blade is a kicker, flapper, flash blade and won't spin.  It is for flash and vibration.  Through the ice just a very gentle tight line lift and drop is the way to fish it.  If you over jig it it will get fouled on your line.  I hope to shoot an underwater vid this winter of the proper technique.  I have a pic at the bottom of this post of the jigs I am sending you tomorrow to field test  for me.  The ones with the treble are the ATI-47s.   You will also be the first to try the New Lac Seul jig.  I will be discussing the design of this in the Canada forum.  This will work anywhere you would use a standard jig.  I spent a lot of time speaking with guides in Onterio and the theory is that most standard jigs do not have enough lenght.  Walleyes will usually try just to grab the minnow and not engulf the jig head and minnow the majority of the time.  I always thought the opposite.  But then I don't catch 50 walleyes per day all summer long.

DDSBYDAY.... nice looking jigs..... The 47 reminds me of a larger version of a jig I used to do very well with on hard water, the Fairy jig... not sure if those are still around, havent seen them for a while... really like the firetiger pattern.  Do you have them in glow colors(green/firetiger)?  Yeah, that type of blade, like on the Fairy jigs I have used, works well with a suttle presentation, almost bumping/tapping the line or making the jig wobble just enough to make the blade flitter and turn over.... Always worked really well for slabs.... like yours better than the fairy jigs cause they're more walleye sized & the colors are better... hard to beat the firetiger for daylight/low light conditions.... hope ya have glow models too..... I'd definatly like to try some though!

For ice fishing I am also a fan of glow colors.  I make a white, yellow chartruese, and a green chartreuse firetiger pattern.  All of them come with glow orange stripes to represent the orange fins of a belly up perch.  I also have the yellow and green chartreuse in glow colors.  I like to mix it up with subtle glow instead of all glow.   My favorite pattern is a powder painted glow chartreuse with black splotches and a glow orange patch.  That is the pattern I have had the most success with and the one Wildlife was banging eyes on last winter.  Unfortunately the glow powder paints have a flat finish and are not appealing to fishermen.  The lures I make are designed to catch fish.  An ice fisherman from Utah suggested the name MAC ATTACK for that particular pattern.  I think I am going to go with it.   Check out this link if you want to see the MAC ATTACK pattern.

Was wondering if you or any of the guys on here tried the UV Blast spray. I started with it last year and seemed to make a difference also tried it this summer with two of the same shad raps and got double to triple the hits. Let me know Thanks
