Full Moon Fishing for Sept. of 2010 was a complete success and I think most people were very happy with their catches. The fish were in the shallows and there were guys out to catch them. Monday thru Wednesday were very good nights for catching fish from 19 inches to 28 ½ inches. Jordan, Iman and Fish on John fished together all 3 nights last week and did very well and Jordan ended up catching that great big 55 inch musky and a 28 inch walleye for his efforts. Thursday was a blow out so no one was out on the lake down here. But Friday thru Sunday were very good nights for some and just ok for others. It was a real game of colors and sizes. One night the shallow running raps were working and then the next night it would be husky jerks. I was very pleased to see the amount of fish on the rocks already. The water temps are in the mid 50s right now and the walleyes are feeding heavy on lake shiners. That is what was in their bellies when they cleaned them.

Colors and size of bait were very important, if you had on anything with a blue tint to it or the chrome and black colors. Any other color and you were not going to get bit. Saturday night seemed to be more of a husky jerk night and Thursday night was the complete opposite. Those who figured out the pattern for that particular night did great and others struggled catching fish. I have 6 full buckets of fish guts for the garbage man, so that means everyone must have caught their limits. It was definitely hard to see everyone getting ready and all of the boats that were launching and heading out. This is the first time in over 35 years that I have not fished the full moon phase of Sept. or for that matter any full moon phase.

Oh well, I will be there in October come hell or high water, you can be sure of that. I have a doctor’s appointment in the morning and I am hoping to get out of the cast and into the walking boot. That will be a great feeling. Then 6 weeks in that until I can put full weight back on the foot. I am sure looking forward to getting back on my feet again. I have put up the pictures from everyone that had a camera with them to take a picture. I just want to say, to those of you that are using your cell phones for your pictures of your fishing memories.

Stop it and at least invest in a cheap digital camera.

The pictures from your cell phones are, well let’s just say less than desirable. Check out all of the pictures from this full moon phase on the photo album. It has been acting funky since the last picture upload, so you may have to click on recent uploads on the left hand side of the page to view them all. Wish me luck with the doctor tomorrow and have a great week.
