I need some help, please?? I have not been pheasant hunting for about 12 yrs. I'm want to get back into it this year and take my son out. He's 10 and showing an interest in hunting. I know he's not old enough but he wants to walk with me so i want to show him. My only problem is I have no idea what land to go on and what is public? i'm in saint paul and I dont really want to go a long ways away with him. if you have any suggestions please let me know. Thank You.

If you can find a WMA map, you'll find public land.  Keep in mind, the closer to the TC it is, the more it will get stomped on.

If you're thinking about getting him started and want to show him what goes on, maybe try a game farm and buy a few birds.  Granted it's not the same as a "wild hunt", but it will be as close as you can get and it won't eat up a whole day.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

Come down to where I am Saturday afternoon, we'll hunt all day Sunday and then drive home Sunday night. Possible?

game unlimited/wings north/horse and hunt.. you can do a few bird hunt with the kid and be assured to see atleast what you pay for.. the horse and hunt has a great club with excelent food as well. and then if the kid likes it you can map out some public places later on.
