Need a Duck

My son is in a taxidermy class and needs a medium sized bird for his project. He would like to do  a Wood duck. I don't duckhunt so I am looking for a donation. I would get him a Grouse but apparently they are thin skinned and don't do well for beginners. Thanks

I might be heading out Thursday PM to hunt so there is a chance.  If not, I am heading north this weekend to hunt and could give you one.

Where are you located?  It would probably be Monday before you get it next week.

otherwise ill be out pass shooting tommorow morning, lots of wood ducks around still. i also have access to nice drake mallards that are almost fully colored if your interested in that.

I'm out of Otsego so we could meet in Nowthen.  Myself and FireRanger will keep you posted.  DO you want it field dressed or guts left in?  I only ask cuz we chop the tails off and gut them out.

Fishabass If you would like a 3 year old drake mallard I have two that the boy can experiment with. They are live and captive at this time so whenever he is ready. The only hitch is it might cost you a bottle of some August Schell product. Let me know they should have good color by then.

I have kept game before for taxi's and usually they prefer them gutted if you know how. A gut hook made of clothes hanger works fairly well to remove the guts from a bird.

I have no idea if it needs to be gutted or not. I will check with my son. As far as gutting them....Never done it...I have cleaned them for eating purposes.

Trying to get info from a 16 year old is like trying to convince the wife I need to go hunting..
