I don't.  I carry enough stuff into the woods.

fleefly, get a 3d deer target and put it out in the field where you hunt.

we bought one last year and I used it for both.
the horns were removeable and I did not use them while hunting.

to me, it's not so much to attract them into the field, though this can and does work, but rather to give them confidence to step out maybe a little earlier.

this could be just the ticket for the food plot scene or power line crossings.

like stated earlier, it's yet another thing to carry out, but if it works is it worth it?
I'd say so, depending how far you need to carry it.

I've used them off and on for the better part of 10 years.

I have mainly used doe decoys, as I really haven't had property where I would be trying to hunt dominant bucks through all 3/4 seasons of bow and gun to use a buck one.

Most times, the doe decoys have brought in does to investigate. It will definately get their attention and almost every time they will come to it on the downwind side. I had a doe come into 30 yards from about 200+ yards away when it saw the decoy. It doesn't really take them long to figure out something is up with a decoy however, and they might bust out of there if they don't see it move after 10/20 minutes of staring at it.

I use the plastic decoy, and they can be very noisy when setting up in the morning.
Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive.

I use the target one like Jiggle said and it almost too funny to watch them going up to it. I have had them go right up to it and run away and then come back a couple times to check it out again. A couple years ago I had one set up for slug hunting and a buck was chaseing a doe and stopped to look at the decoy and I blasted him. Nice 10 pointer. I just put mine in the weeds when I walk out. During the rut I put some doe in heat on it. Haven't had any try to hump it yet.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.  If
you can't eat it or hump it.

Piss on it and walk away

Just make sure it isn't looking at you or they will look your way to see what it is looking at.

I used one a carry lite and set up the doe, I was hunting in a ground blind and to me left side of the blind the deer just sat in the woods and snorted and got all up set over it, they would not even step out. So after a while I just sold them, hoping someone ealse would have good luck with them.
