Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

All that I've ever used at any time whether Bow or firearms and then Muzzy is the earth scent wafers, and the fall earth scent cover spray for your boots and clothes etc...  I usually pin one wafer to my hat, the highest point on my person.  Never have had much luck with esterous scents, guess I'd rather try to cover the human scent factor first for a persons best chances.  It's been working for me for years now.   :archery:

I have done some mock ground scrapes too and have had bucks check them out.

Im the same, I use the Earth Scent spray for my boots and clothing.  Last year I did use doe estrus and did bag the biggest buck I have ever seen - but that might not be related.  I think it does work a little though - had kicked out alot of bucks around my stand when they were usually not around.  IDK, I will use it again this year, I suppose it cant hurt?
Anything to mask the human scent is a must for me, but thats all i use religously.

I haven't ever used much for scents besides the cover scent that have been said.  But I'm interested in this thread to see what others think.

Cover scents for me (earth/pine).....earned the nickname 'Dirtboy' at a restaurant in WI where we'd go for breakfast. :rotflmao: Worked for me! Always lots of bucks where I was. I used to stuff a bag with all the surrounding dirt and conifers for a week so the natural scent would permeate the clothing.

my experience with scents has 2 sides... on one side I used to always by the freshest scent used it all the time had some small deer follow it up to the stand when I would bow hunt.  then on the other side one deer opener I rolled a 4 wheeler and spilled gas all over myself trying to upright it.. that morning i had 2 bucks fighting behind me and they could have cared less what I did or had on me... when the little one ran off I took the big one. and the other time I was eating some crappy old jerky left over from the year before and just wizzed out of the stand when a wall hanger came following a doe 30 yards in front of me, I had no scent on that day... so now all I use is the earth cover scent, I wash my clothes in the special "detergent" and store it in a plastic tote the day before season.  no more doe piss for me.

im big into scents and cover scents. some do work i think, if the deer are in the general area anyway so they gotta come in to check it. i for one like the tinks golden estrus and the trail ends, tryed tinks #69 doe in rut with mixed results, wasnt all that impressed with that. never tryed code blue, but may this year. for cover scent i have tryed it all, scent-away,scent killer, dead down wind i also get the plain cover scent in dead down wind for bowhunting because why spray a scent on yourself when you have scent-lok or scent blocker clothing on, kinda defeats the whole purpose when you spray down with earth scent or pine scent right? for regular gun season i put on earth scent for my blaze orange jacket.

CODE BLUE ROCKS!  I only had the opportunity to use it last year as it was a new product.  I had 3 different bucks leave the doe they were chasing to come check it out.  I used it on a Missouri hunt last year and dipped a wick into the bottle and hung the wick on a tree branch in a good place for a clean kill.
The one buck was on a full steam run after a doe and locked up tight about 60yds away, down wind, left the doe and came right in.
I take the wick out with me each night and replace it with a new wick each time I went out.
Can't wait to buy a bottle - maybe this weekend!

Primos earth scent as a cover. I've had good results with skoal apple and human urine around the base of my stand. ;)

Just cover scents from HS for me.

Had too many doe's smell the estrous and snort and get all pissed off and run away.

This has happened many times over the years for me, the last few years I've focused on not spooking the doe's out of the area and keeping a "manpee scrape" fresh everytime I'm out there.

I'm not a bow hunter (Gun deer only) so I can honestly say I don't use any.  Play the wind right and you'll improve your odds.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.
