I see that lowrance sells a kit to convert some units over to ice fishing use,  has anyone tried this?  I'm trying to cheap out and not spend a pile of $$ on a new flasher since I'm just getting into ice fishing and have already spent a pile past my limit.

I am not familiar with the ice kit but if you are in a warm enough enviroment it should work just fine.    I prefer flashers because I like to be outside. I use the porty to warm up if needed. I have never seen the flasher slow down from cold and it is real time.  Anyone have any experience with this?  My stuff is outdated but it works.
