He wasn't quite finished at the time of this photo but I forgot to snap a picture of him before he left. Unless it is on my other camera!!

Only 10! I need to get one done for myself just for that reason. My neighbors doorstep would be first in line. Inside a porta potty at a busy location would be great as well. :rotflmao: ;D ;)

i gotta ask... was this in a trap or a clean head shot with a 22? and the stink gland, how does one learn to remove one of those?

Trapped I believe. I will not allow a skunk in the shop unless it is skinned and descented. So if someone wants one done I tell them to purchase one. I have a guy in Indiana that traps and has a video about descenting skunks. See if I can find the information for you. The stuff brings pretty good money per ounce if you learn how to do it!! I purchase a few western skunks from him every year.

I would have to say I 'm just curious as to how it's done and will most likely go to my grave never having destinked a skunk.  there was a shop in wisconsin where they skinned my bear that had a rear of a skunk set up with a beer tap.. you had to pull the tail to get the beer out.

Not 100% sure about a season. I don't think so. But I wouldn't worry much about it. Practice the three S rule. Shoot, Shovel, and Shut up!

Unprotected Mammals
Weasels, coyotes, gophers, porcupines, striped skunks, and all othermammals
for which there are no closed seasons or other protection are unprotected
animals. They may be taken in any manner, except with the aid of artificial lights or by using a motor vehicle to drive, chase, run over, or kill the animal. Poisons may not be used except in accordance with all label regulations of the state Dept. of Agriculture and federal
Environmental Protection Agency.

unless that skunk is spotted shoot away.. spotted skunks are protected in MN. however I've never seen one in all my time in the woods.  if your going to shoot it aim for the head so it dies before it can spray.

Bury it quick too.   The stink leaks out after it's dead.  If you leave it overnight you will be sorry.
