We're still planning on heading out this weekend.  Anyone else?

What are your lake conditions like?  I assume standing water and slick.  Any of your lakes having the ice pull away from shore yet?  This hasn't stopped me before, but still curious.

I will be out.  It may be a little early for my late ice spot but I am going to give it a try.  It's usually best when the ice starts honeycoming.  I don't think we are there yet.

Going out tomorrow. Would have gone out today but had other things to do. Shopping and the evil TAXES. Lots of water out there on the ice.

I was out today on pelican.  The ice is starting to get pretty bad at the shore but there is still a good 24 to 30 inches of good ice on the main lake.  fishing today was decent we caught a bunch of crappies and sunnies but really had to weed throught the smaller ones.  We are heading to mille lacs sat for the perch and tullibees

I'm still out, but I'd trade it for Golf any day of the week.  I'm  of winter

I hope to be out there this weekend sometime or another. Between homework and work, it might be dicey weather or not I get out, but I'm going to try.  Gotta pick up my 2011 Trout stamp first!

I think today was the last time driving out with the Polaris Ranger. Shore is getting a little soft. Be walking out from here on. Maybe not even walking depending on what this next storm does to the ice. Took a pic today. Hardly ever remember to bring my camera but I did today. Didn't catch anything but perch, small perch. Had to have the ice cleats on.

That is really a slick little rig you have there.  Sunday was my day to go but I wasn't up for the dealing with the rain.  I plan on an adventure this coming weekend.  It sounds like a little winter weather is coming back this week.

First is Lunch time for all the Snobears on the Lake...

Next its not just walleyes you catch.... what a neat color on the Pout..

So Corny when you say Winnipeg do you mean Lake Winnipeg? And I agree that is one pretty pout (if there could be such a thing).

Myself and FireRanger went out this past weekend to Green Lake, east of Princeton.  Perch, perch, and more perch.  Caught too many to count but did bring home a few to eat.  Females are plump full of spawn sacks.

Fawk  yep Southern Lake Winnipeg, about 30 miles north of the the City.  Best walleye fishing in NA right now.   Its about 6 hrs on good roads from the Cities all on 4 lane interstate.  Manitoba walleye season closes April 1 every year though.  Koppin's Live Targets are the lure of choice.

Hmmm not familiar with that bait. They look more like crank baits. Which one do you fish with?

The blue smallest is my favorite, ie caught the biggest fish on but the golden ones also work.   1/4oz  Kopplers Live Target Golden Shiner...   But have also caught walleye and pike on 1/2 and 3/4 oz.   They dont have much action on underwater camera but the noise they make get walleyes attention!

It makes a different rattle sound than a Rattlin Rap, Clackin Rap or the other lipless rattle baits Salmo or Rattle Traps.  Eyes are attracted to it more....  I often will bait the front hook with a fresh minnow head. :happy1:
