Ice fishing on the south end of the Lake is steadily improving.  The walleyes are more active and appear to be making their migration towards the shoreline and the Rainy River.  All permanent houses need to be off by April 1st.  The recent cool weather should provide good ice and excellent ice fishing well into April.  Bring your four wheelers as most of the snow is off the lake.

The river has moved past Birchdale, but the ramp was not cleared as of now.  The river opening has been moving slower than normal due to the colder weather.  We will have more on the river fishing in next week’s report.

Cabins are going fast in April, so book now.  It’s also a great time to plan your summer trip while we still have availability.
