The ice is gone, the docks are in, and the cabins and bar and grill are ready. I just have to do the yard work around here as soon as it dries up in the middle of the week. Other wise we are completely ready to open the doors. We made the long hard run to Home Depot, Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart in St Cloud today. We filled the Trail Blazer to its brim with parts and goods for the Resort from all 3 stores. Don’t even ask what the bill was, it was not good, but it was fun spending money we don’t really have yet anyway, but it will come in after the opener. Patty and I have put in some long hard hours these past 2 weeks with cabins, the bar and grill, which by the way was a nightmare. We pulled out every piece of equipment and scraped off hardened grease. We used degreaser on everything for 3 days and it is super duper clean now. Just like all of the cabins also, but we are pretty sore from doing all of that work and then after the dock work, we are now feeling our age and feeling muscles we haven’t used for a couple of months. But it was really kind of fun working together again unlike last year with my foot surgery. It’s always really rewarding to clean things up and get them ready for everyone who comes up. We will be rapping a few things up the rest of the week but we are ready.

The bite should be pretty good with water temps in the middle 40s, there is still a perch spawn that is still going on and it will keep the male walleyes around in the shallows for a little while longer. It looks like the weather is going to be decent for the weekend so the bite may still be shallow in 16 to 13 ft of water. Leeches and minnows will be the bait of choice, but don’t for get about that bobber rod, it can be and usually is pretty deadly. That is it for now at Rock Central. If you have any questions on what to bring for tackle or anything to do with fishing shoot me and email.

Have a great week

We will see you all this weekend

Patty and I are pretty pumped up about the opener this year for some reason. This is our 21st opener on Lake Mille Lacs and it has been our pleasure to service you for so many years!
