The season started out great. Lots of walleyes roaming the shallows of the west side. I actualy did not go on saturday (im a wimp) but went sunday and filled out in just a few hours. Very good jig bite. The nice thing was the year classes of walleyes that we saw. Every thing from 12 inches to up in the 20s. There were also some 17 3/4 fish that made up 1/2 of our bag limit. Monday was basicly the same bite but slowed after noon. On wensday it was flat calm and I strugled to get just a few fish. Perch had moved into the hot spot and the walleyes had either moved or coulndt beat the perch to the bait. But conditions as they were I wasnt too conserned and they are out there to be had. Should be a very good season on leech this year.
