Well the rain let up today and Lizzy and I went out and hit a few garage sales. After a little bit she said "Dad, it's nice out now, I wanna go fishing." Enough said, we stopped at Blue Ribbon and got some leeches and crawlers and came home to load up. My oldest Reanna is home now and wanted to go as well. My truck is still in the shop so couldn't take out the boat. I opted to just run to Phalen for a big. We got the car loaded up and drove the few blocks up there.

We went to the north end. There's a creek that runs between Phalen and Keller so we started off there. It was a treat for me to see my two girls fishing. The rain started and they wanted to stay, it only rained for about five minutes and then stopped again.

Didn't catch nothing in the first spot and I'm not familiar with it. We walked about a mile up the stream and found a nice patch where the water flows over a small fall that's under a bridge. Some nice shore fishing spots looked to be had. This creek is only about a hundred feet or so across but I could see some nice bass and panfish swimming. I put a worm on Lizzy's rod and Reanna still had a leech on. Reanna found her own little spot and was casting out, letting it float down and then starting over. I tossed Lizzy's up a little ways and as it came down she had her first fish. Not a whopper, but she was pretty happy about it.

Reanna wasn't getting any action so I put on a smaller jig and a worm under her float. About fifteen minutes passed and she shouted over "I got one!" She came running up to me with a small bass but a giant smile.

You couldn't see it very well in the first pic so she pointed it out.

We continued fishing. I saw something below the service that left a wake. I'm not sure what it was, but it was big. We kept fishing. Reanna casted out and got caught up in a tree. She called me over and said "I don't even know how I got that hooked up there". I said "you have no idea how many trees I've tied into in my day. It's nothing to worry about". I snapped the line and went to re-rig it for her. I looked up and she was leaning out over the shore. She came to me with the branch and the tackle on it. I smiled and said she was awesome for that but I never worry about her loosing tackle. We fished a little longer and then decided to head home before it opened up on us again.

It was a great night. The girls had some fun. They each caught one fish. Nothing to brag about, but you know what, it's not about how many fish were caught. I got to spend a couple of hours with my girls and that's all that ever matters to me.
Friends are like buttcheeks..........crap might separate them, but they come together in the end.
