I have been saying all along with the high water if you consider the weather factor July and August are the best fishing months on Lake Oahe. Reference my last years pictures on my  web site and you will see we caught more big fish in those months and sure had to deal with alot less of the weather. Fished the Paul Jacobsen and sons group ( a great father sons trip) to limits of nice walleye on a nice day the 19th, then sat in pouring down rain catching northern, walleye and some bass on 20th. They are real troupers and stuck it out in pouring down rain Tuesday but had to cancel third day due to 4 inches of rain and 40 mph wind gusts on 21th. Typical June weather but when you can fish it is a great bite all over Oahe. Caught these fish in 5 to 10 ft. of water in the Whitlock bay area with Bttm Bouncer/nightcrawlers. Some guides still using minnows or pulling plugs. Alot of fish in 14 to 20 foot range but we caught more of the over 20 inch fish shallow.Maybe fish for numbers deeper but go shallow after you have your under 20 inch fish is a good game plan.Cheyene still good along with Bushs landing, and Whitlock bay areas. No salmon report and West bend area spotty due to dirty high current water..Cheyene river to the dam improving especially for those who know the lake.
