ice fishing challenge ( making the guild lines )

i think you should make a post with the official rules to help us clarifiy because we have all of these ideas and im not sure whats still floating or official

   We will.  The  rules will be simple.  3 fish = 1)Panfish (crappie,perch,sunfish)
                                                             2) Walleye
                                                             3)Northern pike 

the rules will be very similar to the summer challenge and will be finalized long before the contest starts.  3 men randomly drawn teams.   We will need to finalize the minimum lengths for each fish to score .   I am open for suggestions on these.   A staple item will have to be in the pic.  That will be posted just before it starts.   Thats it in a nutshell.

     I think for the panfish we will have only 1 length for all three.  We could go with 7 inches which is a nice size sunfish.  These are the minimum lengths to score.

   I guess the big question is when do we call it over?  I would like to see it go till April 1st.  Big panfish can be had at late ice.

i say from first ice to last ice so we could have rough starting and ending dates from past knolege of first and last ice

We have to have a set start date to be able to draw the teams.  We need to allow 2 weeks for sign up.  This will be the first one and it has been talked about before but never carried through.  I do think we should give it a shot.

    I'm thinking more like 2nd week of December.  Lakes usually are freezing around the end of November.   Don't want anyone taking any chances on bad ice.

What would be the deference as you want to go to (I would like to see it go till April 1st.) People are just going to have to use good since when on the ice.

well i belive dds has all of them out in him head we might need to tweek some stuff but nothing major imo

    The official sign up will be up Oct. 1st.  3 randomly drawn members to a team.  The final rules are being set up.  It will work just like the summer challenge.  There will be no prizes at this time.  Bragging rights go to the victors.  We will run from Dec. 1st to April first.  More to come.

    I had to park outside last night.  Thick frost on the windshield this morning.       Pray for cold and a late snow!!
