    • Fishing & Hunting South Dakota's Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe
Fishing is as good as it is going to get this year and the July weather just is about as nice as it can be. Winds around 10 to 15 just about every day and temps in the 80's and low 90's making perfect fishing conditions, I finished fishing Jeb and Mary Piles to possession limits of bass and walleye with all real nice fish then fished repeat customers Randy Sr. and Randy Downing Jr. to limits of walleye and Bass. We caught around 50 walleye and were very selective keeping only walleye over 18 inch's along with there over's a 24 incher a 22 incher and I kept one just over 20 so once again just a real quality bunch of fish. I am still catching the fish on bttmbouncers/plain hook and night crawlers but you can get them trolling plugs, lindy rigs or jigs if that is your style of fishing. Fish are getting deeper now and we caught most of them in 20 to 30 fow. I am also hearing reports that some nice fish are being taken down on Lake Sharpe below Pierre. Bite is all over from dam to Mobridge so take your pick We never fished around any other boats today but there is still a lot of boat traffic around as the bite is so good. If you travel a little away from the most used ramps you can get away from the crowds if that is your style of fishing.
