The kennel I got Mya from had her on Purina dog chow, I know they get discounts and it is cheap but I don't like the composition of that food.

I had Mandy on Nutri source then switched to Diamond brand in her later years and both seemed ok.

Nutri source did seem to give her smaller stooles and still keep her fit where Diamond was cheaper and worked good.

I picked up samples from the game fair, Mya seems to like them all but really went after the Pro Pac stuff. I still have to try the Loyal,Ukanuba, and the Diamon samples yet though.

My question is what food do you feed your pup and why did you choose that over the rest?

Purnia puppy chow for about the first 10 months then I have or will switch to Alpo for Duncan. Have done it this way for years and years just works out fine for me. Dogs are healthy and good coats. Of course once they hit 8 or so I change them over to Senior 7 So I have Bud and Barney on that now. Having three dogs and three cats animal feed cost do add up over the course of the year.  :doah:

Benny,

FYI,in case you did'nt know, switching around from brand to brand from day to day is tough on your dogs system, they should be wiened from one brand to another slowly, dry food is always best for the larger breeds, its healthy for their gums and teeth, some good brands out there, read the ingredients, nutri brand foods are very good as I'm sure other brand names are, personnally I would'nt cut corners to feed my pup a cheaper brand, stick with a good lamb/rice meal for a healthy coat.

I had mine on Eukanuba when he was a pup.  Did Purina Dog Chow for about two years during my divorce and went to Diamond about a year ago.  He's always been healthy and in great shape.

Here's a picture of my puppy.

Good looking pup there NephronRacing, I am leaning toward Diamon because it was a good food and reasonably priced at the feed store.

I will have to read up some on the lamb and rice foods too.

Thanks, Benny

I use Diamond Naturals puppy food and continued with Diamond Naturals for about 3 years and switch to the high protein for the hunting season.  For the last year I was using Canidae but they again raised the price out of my rang so it's back to the Diamond Naturals.  Not only that but my dog hunts pheasants almost every weekend the season is open with a couple 5 day trips to S. Dakota a year and he never quits.  My dog is the one on the left and his coat is great and he is all muscle.
