I finally finished my diamond willow lamp and need a lamp shade.  I would like a birch bark one.  I saw them in duluth a few years ago.  Anybody know of a place closer to the metro I could score one?

nice.. did you use one of those drill bits on a fiberglass rod to get the cord through the center?

my brother and I have been drying some eastern red cedar, he bought the mill attachment for a chainsaw... we planked a few out very nice.. slow work but it's kinda fun making your own stuff..

Brother welded drill bit to a hunk of scrap iron he had.

I found a few very large diamond willows this last deer season.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

nice welding job, must of been hard to get it on there straight.  when i get some of that cedar built into something I toss up some pics.

Took 2 tries,  He can weld anything.  Drilled from both ends and got luck enough to meet in the middle.  If you look at the back picture you can see where we had to fix the hole.
