We have gone from months to weeks to days to hours till the start of the Challenge.    If you are sitting on the sidelines next saturday because you have not yet signed up you will miss out on being Smacked around for the rest of the summer... Just saying...   

That would be Friday by noon is dead line to sign up!!! 5-11-2012 HD change it.

I've been thinking about this little trophy since I first saw it. Almost seems like it is meant to be a part of MNO lore.

I am thinking that if the rock bass competition does not come to be, there are still many unique awards this could be used for. For example, could be a traveling trophy that goes to the biggest blabbermouth/chest beater on the smackdown, who falls the hardest and performs the weakest. The fisherman with the highest expectations and most pathetic results. Of course during their rein they would be expected to submit a unique photo or themselves posing with their trophy, every week, until next season when a new inept fisherman would replace them. We could even add a message to the plaque like, "I got my ass kicked."

     Sorry I have been busy getting the golf game on track.  As returning golf team champion from last Year and championship flight winner of last year I have a couple of titles to defend.  I will devote whatever time it takes for my fishing team to win this year too.  From the looks of things I think a couple of casts off the dock will do it.  I may even throw the rod in my golf bag.  Either way you boys can fight for the rock bass trophy.  I want the can of "? " made by the great and powerful Fawk.  Hopefully my soon to be teamates will appreciate the can of "?" as much as I will.

Another thought.

During your rein you would be expected to place the Rock Bass trophy in the most prominent place in your house. Randomly a group of highly trained MNO "inspectors" would show up to confirm that the Rock Bass is being appropriately displayed.

A bit like weapons inspectors showing up in Iraq.

I do know a lot of thing , and yes this is a fishing challenge smack down thread But it all so has nothing to do with Rock Bass As Rock Bass is not in this challenge so yes it

Seems to me that if someone oversmacked (on the smack thread) and under performed (in the Challenge), and thus was a recipient of the dreaded "Rock Bass" award (also known as the MVP-not! award). That would have plenty to do with the Smack Thread. But now that I know the Smack-police are on duty, I will use extreme caution using the word "Rock Bass." Thanks for the warning.

The word on the street is that Willy has been sweating it out about being the recipient of the looser of the year rock bass award. A dependable source has told the MNO News Team that our Willy as hopped in his car and is in route to Howard Lake as we speak. His goal is to purchase the coveted rock bass before Fawk gets his hands on it.

Little does he know that fawk had already purchased it yesterday.

I'm thinking here that Wild might have some kind of phobia in regards to Rock Bass. With all the talk of everything that has nothing to do with the challenge in the smack thread to protest now about a Rock Bass trophy seems a little suspicious. Maybe Wild has a recurring dream of the one that got away when he was a young lad, perhaps a rock bass spooled his U S 76 reel bought from collecting beer cans. Or maybe that is all he could catch when he was young, before he moved up to bullheads. Hmmmm

The Staple Item is a lighter, it says on the picture that it is the 2012 staple item. To clarify the 2012 staple item for this years Challenge 2012 is a lighter. It can be any color or colors it can or can not be workable. No it does not have to be a BIC lighter but it does need to be a disposable lighter. It needs to have MNO printed on it and the MNO needs to be visible on the lighter when taken with a fish  that you are entering. It is recommended that you print MNO on the front and back and on the sides there will be no mistake that it is a lighter with MNO on it.


I think Wild offered this suggestion  I hope there is no question about it just being a plain lighter. I am going to go and super glue one to my fish board, But what color should I use?    There was some talk that the lighter needs to be burning when you take the picture, but that is not true, I think.
